Palmach And Youth Movements Conquer Nitzana

Rachel Rabin, sister of the late Yitzhak Rabin, together with veteran Palmach fighters, looks at the tree planted in her brother's honor at Nitzana.
Nitzana has been an integral part of Israel's historical heritage even before it became an important Youth Aliyah educational center from 1987 onwards. Nitzana has recently hosted many visitors including Palmach veterans of Israel's pre-state elite combat units who recalled the great battles in the region during the War of Independence. But not only the older generation tour the region, members of today's youth movements also come to witness the heroics of their grandparents. Today Nitzana is a flagship center of education for the entire region for Israeli youth emphasizing various topics including Zionism, Judaism, science, ecology, nature and the environment.
