The Bar Mitzvah celebration is a significant, festive event that symbolizes a turning point in the life of each Jewish child. In Ben Yakir we strongly believe that every Jewish child is entitled to this special experience.

The Bar Mitzvah program at Ben Yakir Youth Village is our pride - the celebrations and activities are truly significant - and the village supplies a need which the family and the home sadly cannot supply. This is the only chance of the child to experience and celebrate his Bar Mitzvah like the rest of his peers.

During the Bar Mitzvah year, the child learns and prepares for entering the world of mitzvoth, receives his own tefilin and talith, experiences a fun day at Eilat, a jeep ride, a ceremony at the western wall, a special Shabbat with all the families and the highlight - a big celebration at the heart of the village - with many family members and distinguished guests. This ceremony, like the whole process, is moving and goes deep into the hearts of the children and their families.
