In October the students of the village were stunned to find a herd of goats had been stolen from the animal corner during the night. The very same day we contacted our friends at the Jewish Agency who responded to the students’ call for help with alacrity. Within a few hours donations were obtained, which enabled us to acquire a new herd of goats for the students at the village, and to improve the security of the village in order to prevent the same thing recurring.
A few days ago the new goats arrived at the village. The students received them, unloaded them from the truck and led them, one by one, into the pen. There was a sense of high spirits and the smiles on the children’s faces said it all. Israel Department director Mrs. Leah Golan , Partnership 20000 director Mrs. Andrea Arbel, Net@ program education coordinator Mrs. Orit Bash and FRD-Israel Department liaison manager Mrs. Rebecca Stern, who were at the village at the time, joined the children at the exciting event with the new goat herd.
This is the time to express our heartfelt thanks to our friends overseas, representatives of the Jewish communities in North America and to the Paz fuel company, who opened their hearts and came to our aid. We also want to thank the Jewish Agency people who worked so energetically to mobilize this help - Jeff Kaye, Maxine Finkelstein, Elisha Hossman and Amos Elad.
