At mid-year, we invited the parents from across the country for a parents day at Ben Yakir.
The village director, Yossi Krothammer, defines the day as a great success, and points out the fact that over 90 % of the parents attended this day!
The parents met with the teachers at the school and hear about their son's progress. School director, Rabbi Natan Gutman: "it was truly special to see the significance the parents gave to meeting the teachers, to the point they simply refused to end the meetings and go to lunch, saying - we didn't come here to eat, it is much more important to us to meet with the teachers and hear about our sons educational situation…"
Later in the day, the parents met with the counselor staff of the boarding school, visited the rooms, created art work together with the students and got a taste of their son's daily life in the village.
The day ended with a parent-staff forum in the culture hall.
