Ben Yakir Youth Village marked the end of the school year with a special and festive event. The parents of the students arrived from across the country to take part in the celebration.
The event began with a parent-student activity which included stations of arts, games and more. The parents and the students enjoyed hearing and seeing the results of their kids' participation in extra-curricular activities that were held throughout the year – organs, Amharic music, drums and percussion, ceramics and more.

The evening included a moving goodbye ceremony from the 12th grade graduates that have spent 6 years in the village, during which they heard warm words, gifts from the village and the families, and many hugs. The school principal, the boarding school principal and the village director all spoke and congratulated the seniors.
The highlight of the evening was the excellence awards ceremonies – 6 students were chosen as excellent students in different fields in the village – the school, the animal farm, the synagogue, the extra-curricular activities, the boarding school and the village. With the help of the Yair family, that donates to the village for many years, through the 'Spirit of Israel', prizes for excellent students, in a program to help promote excellence and achievements among the students. The family representative, Ofra, spoke and shook the excellent students' hands.

The ceremony included a performance of the 'Flowers of Ben Yakir' choir, and before the end, the village staff went of stage to sing a song for the kids. The boarding school director was the conductor. The staff sang the song 'in this lifetime' with the words:
'May you be to others, like you are to yourself
May you be blessed with what you have
And always be grateful
May you find your way in any way you will walk
And may you be able to survived the ever changing destiny'.
