The Israel Department operates five Youth Aliyah Villages in Israel. These villages provide residential education to over 1,000 native Israeli and new immigrant youth, primarily from at-risk backgrounds, and short-term programs to an additional 12,000 participants.
Junior High Schools
• Ramat Hadassah Szold - 225 boys and girls
• Kiryat Yearim - 120 boys and girls
• Ben Yakir - 135 boys
Kiryat Yearim, Ramat Hadassah Szold and Ben Yakir take students who have specific learning difficulties and who are generally two to five years behind the scholastic level expected for their age. Most children come from difficult home environments and many have serious learning and behavioral problems. They are given intensive educational, social and psychological help by the village’s teaching and residential staff. Small classes allow for a great deal of individual attention. Students generally study at one of these villages for up to three years after which most are ready to transfer into age-appropriate classes in regular high schools.
Senior High School - Hadassah Neurim

Since Youth Aliyah’s inception in 1933 the program has provided a solid education to over 350,000 disadvantaged youth, helping them integrate into Israeli society as contributing members thereof.
