NACIE/North American Coalition for Israel Engagement

NACIE was created to renew Israel in Jewish life by reimagining the possibiities for engagement in today's complex world. Through a network of community labs, local educational, cultural and spiritual role models are mentored to incubate innovative programs, with the support of compelling content and fresh materials. Currently operational in eleven major Jewish communities, NACIE is a partnership of the Jewish Agency and local North American Federations.

Israel-Centered Jewish Education in the former Soviet Union (FSU)

The Jewish Agency has played a key role in the Jewish renaissance in the FSU - and is a crucial partner in ensuring the continuity of these communities. Through direct programming in 4 key areas, we are providing the building blocks for Jewish Identity and connection to Israel - especially among the next generation.

Summer camps, staffed by "home grown" local counselors as well as Israeli counselors, and featuring an innovative Israel-oriented curriculum, create a formative Jewish experience - critical to building lasting Jewish identity and connections to Israel.

In partnership with Israel's Ministry of Educationm the formal heftziba educational network of Jewish day schools - serving over 11,000 youth in the FSU - provides inspiring Israeli educatorsm strengthens Jewish and Israel education curriculam and offers in-service training programs for principals and teachers.

The innovative concept of batei agnon focuses on implementing high-quality cultural and education programs with serious Jewish and Israel content in the major population centers of Moscow, St. Petersburg and Kiev.

higher education and student programs, including open university courses, focus on engaging sophisticated young Jews in compelling Jewish and Israel-oriented study, and on attracting them to participate in a transformative Israel experience program.
