The Jewish Agency is committed to providing Israel educators who can bring Israel into both formal and informal educational settings with excellence. Through our Shlichut Center, we send professional Israeli-Jewish educators into communities to collaborate with local educators to raise the bar on Israel engagement. As a direct service, in a highly collaborative approach we work with communities to ensure that personnel, content and experiences all work together to achieve impact.
Energetic young Israeli volunteer educators provide an invaluable dimension during short-term service of up to a year, in both local educational and community service programs. In addition, we send more than 1,500 young Israelis to serve as counselors inJewish summer camps in North America abnd the former Soviet Union each year.
Just as pivotal to increasing the quality of Israel-centered education in communities are inspired local educators eqiupped with the tools and the expertise to be more effective. Jewish Agency professionals are providing a wide range of in-service training seminars for formal and informal Je4wish educarots cionducted both in Israel and in local Jewish communities. n cooperation with various Jewish institutions and organizations, our uniaue approach rings together high-caliber senior educators in collaboration with local Jewish educators. Together, they offer a multidisciplinary approach to increasing the prominince of Israel in Jewish education systems.
With a focus on developing the next generation of educators and leaders, we are operating a variety of long-term leadership training programs in Israel for young Jews ages 18-30 from around the world. Through a combination of Israel and Jewish studiesm community service and encounters with Israei peers, at the Jewish Agency, we're investing in tomorrow's leaders today.
