Marry Within The Faith

A Message From Conservative Judaism

A WAKE-UP CALL!!

The 1990 National Jewish Population Survey reported:

Over 50% of American Jews involved in wedding ceremonies in recent years married gentiles.

Less than 5 percent of non-Jewish marital partners convert to Judaism.

When conversion to Judaism does not occur, only 28% of the youngsters raised in the mixed-married homes are raised as Jews. And, many of these children are never enrolled in a program of Jewish education.

Precious few of the grandchildren of Jewish-Christian parentage will reach adulthood identifying with Judaism.
