Ethiopian Olim Celebrate Bar/Bat Mitzva
For the 8th year running, Olim from the Tzfat Absorption Center held group Bar and Bat Mitzvah celebrations in Jerusalem, together with the UJIA Partnership from the UK and FZY Israel Camp, some of whom had been previously "twinned" with their counterparts from Tzfat. Shachar Camp USA also joined in the celebrations at the Yeshurun Synagogue in Jerusalem today, 23rd July 2006.

However, this year was an exceptional event, because the event took place and all the Jewish groups came to Israel, despite the Hizbullah attacks on Israel's North, and particularly the recent missile on the Absorption Center in Tzfat. As Chief Rabbi Metzger observed to the families of the Bnei Mitzvah and the visitors to Israel, we are living in an age of miracles every day, in that houses have fallen down around people, but they have survived.
