Road Map Update Guide & Revised Index

Introduction

As the official Road Map has finally been presented to Prime Ministers Ariel Sharon and Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) and published, we are now able to address specific provisions and issues within it, without conjecture.

The Road Map did not appear in a vacuum, and its chances are already being questioned, just as its text and provisions are being weighed up.

- On the one hand, there have been three incidents of homicide bombings in which Israeli civilian security guards have been killed or seriously injured, along with other innocent civilians. The perpetrators include members of Yasir Arafat's Fatah movement.

- On the other hand, Abu Mazen declares that there has to be an end to violence and unsanctioned possession or use of arms; as the only person with whom the US and the EU are prepared to work, his success is crucial to the entire process.

Follow the Update Guide to explore the text and its analysis, using our questions and adding your own.
