Basketball Player Miki Berkovitch was born in Kfar Saba and began pursuing basketball seriously as a student. He and his high school team achieved recognition in international school competitions, and in 1972, Berkovitch helped the Israeli junior all-star team reach fourth place in the European games.

Berkovitch's professional basketball career was primarily with Maccabi Tel Aviv. He was a decisive component of the team's success: in each of his years on the team, the team won the national title, and he also helped lead it to two victories in the European Championships.
