Distribution of Assignments and Honors

During the ceremony, there are various honors that may be given to friends or family.

 Escorts to the chuppah
 Witnesses to the ketubah
 Witnesses to the ceremony
 Bearers of the chuppah
 Reading of the ketubah
 Recitation of the Seven Blessings
 Witnesses for the yichud
 Speeches in conjunction with the ceremony
 Invitation (zimun) to Grace after Meal

Witnesses should be observant adult Jewish males, and those reciting the blessings should be Jewish males as well. If you plan to honor friends or relatives, coordinate this matter with the officiating rabbi. If you do not wish to honor anyone, the rabbi can arrange for witnesses to be present.
