1. If at all possible, the teacher should join the students, or the students should join the teacher, at least once, for Selihot in the synagogue.

2. The school can arrange for a qualified sofer to be available on a certain day, and students should ask their parents to allow them to bring at least one mezzuzah for checking.

3. The class should undertake to do at least four good deeds (collectively, in groups, or each person individually) during the forty days from the first of Ellul to Yom Kippur.

4. At the end of the prayers each morning, the Shofar should be blown, after which the teacher should tell the class a story with a suitable moral.
