R & D

1. Students should understand the interpreted meanings of the name Ellul and the implications for each of them (especially the idea of 'investigation').

2. Students should be familiar with the basic customs applying during Ellul.

3. Students should be familiar with selected sections taken from the Selihot, which should be recited in class or in the school's daily prayer service.

4. Students should be aware of what happened concerning Moses in the forty days from the first of Ellul to Yom Kippur.

5. Students should feel the concept of these days being days of acceptance and be aware that this puts an obligation on each of them.
