Ride with Israel@60

To celebrate Israel's 60th Independence Day, we are inviting dozens of cyclists across the Jewish and the non-Jewish world, and throughout Israel, to join a special Ride with Israel @60. This project provides an excellent opportunity to combine a sportive environment with the celebration of Israel's 60th anniversary.

Registration for Ride with Israel@60 will be open from July 2007 through May 2008: communities, schools, families and individuals are welcome to sign up and join in. Registered riders will receive riding tags with the Israel@60 logo and an advance kit-to-go, with background materials about Israel's social and ecological challenges to study before and during their ride. Photos of each club or group participating in the ride will be posted on our website.

Ride in Israel

In Spring 2008, (May 18 to May 22 ) riders from all over the world will meet in Israel for a 60 km ride across the country; there will also be options for 5 km or 10 km tracks. Along the way, there will be refreshment booths for the cyclists, as well as educational exhibits focusing on the social, communal and ecological challenges that Israel faces today. Ride with Israel Overseas

Besides the central ride in Israel itself, there will be many rides throughout the entire year, all over the world. Some communities will ride independently, while in others there will be coordinated Ride with Israel Days, when a number of communities will host simultaneous rides. Communities from different regions in the world will also be able to join together and ride in their respective cities on a specific date, creating a worldwide feeling of unity with each other, and with Israel.
