Saving Jews, Ensuring Our Future

Responsiveness and responsibility to our Jewish past, present and future

True to our 80-year-old mission, the Jewish Agency brings Jews from forgotten, and often embattled, corners of the earth to Israel. New realities also demand that we bring Israel to corners of the earth where Judaism has long been forgotten, and that we stand strong in Israel’s corner during troubled times.

Featured programs include:

  • Aliyah of Rescue Today over 60,000 Jews are living in countries where their lives and wellbeing are at risk; Together with the Government of Israel, we stand at the ready to facilitate their rescue from anywhere in the world.

  • The Jewish Agency Fund for Victims of Terror is an emergency response fund: assisting the brave citizens living on – and most impacted by – the frontlines of war and terror. Our activities have included respite activities, emergency loans, financial support and trauma support, and more.

  • Aiming to reconnect the Jews of the Former Soviet Union to their roots after decades of Soviet repression, Jewish Agency Summer / Winter Camps and Youth Clubs in the FSU are the primary gateways for introducing thousands of young Jews to their heritage. In Israel, together with the IDF, we run the Nativ program, which strengthens the Jewish and Israeli identity of immigrant soldiers.

  • We are currently bringing the last Falash Mura Jews of Ethiopia to Israel and integrating them into Israeli society, which we hope to complete by 2014. The Agency has recently taken over the operation of the Gondar facility, where we provide basic care and Aliyah preparation.
