- 6,300 residents are children ages 0-17
- Ranks 5 out of 10 on the socioeconomic scale (according to the National Bureau of Statistics)
- 1,310 local residents are in need (according to the local Department of Welfare)
- 753 children are immigrants, 91 of which are in need (according to the local Department of Social Services)
- 3,756 children and youth are registered in regional educational frameworks:
- 1,904 are in elementary school
- 948 are in junior high school
- 904 are in high school
- Local economy is based on both light industry, involving consumer-oriented products such as communications, information technology, and electronics and agriculture.
