Jonathan Levine, president of Aaron Spelling Productions, participated in the UJA New York Federation Solidarity Mission to Israel in August.
During the mission’s visit to Kiryat Shmona on the Lebanese border, he met Jewish Agency Chairman Zeev Bielski and was inspired to extend his stay in order to volunteer with new immigrants.
Levine stayed for four days at the Tzahal Absorption Center in Safed, where many recent Ethiopian immigrants live. Using his creativity to spruce up the premises, Levine repainted the basement with the help of the children. He also touched up a beautiful mural on the entrance level. “This was a wonderful and inspiring experience. Staying with the immigrants gave me more than I gave them.”
