The following message was issued by Erez Kriesler, mayor of the Misgav Regional Council,
"Over the past few weeks, we, the council and its communities were forced to adapt to a new reality, one which we called a "State of Emergency".
Today we awaken once more to a new reality and need time to understand and adjust.
During the past weeks, we experienced a number of complicated processes that demanded preparation and the ability to assimilate them; it was no simple task to implement processes into our communities. Therefore, we've decided to wait a few days and study the new situation currently before us.
True, the temptation to think that it's all over is great. However, I'm not so sure that all is behind us. I fear a situation in which we will become complacent and then surprised.
In the coming days, we must remain alert, prepared and try to comprehend the direction we are headed.
It would be very easy for us to declare a return to "business as usual"; however, it would be irresponsible at this stage to do so.
On the assumption that we are in fact headed towards a return to normalcy, the primary challenge before us is the opening of the school year on September 1.
The council now needs to enlist all of its remaining resources in order to accomplish what seems to be an almost impossible objective.
Sincerely yours,
Erez Kriesler
Mayor"
