The Role of the Immigration and Absorption Department in Immigration to and Initial Absorption in Israel

The Department's emissaries are the official overseas emissaries of the State of Israel in all matters pertaining to the Aliyah (immigration) process.

The Jewish Agency's Immigration and Absorption Department 's Role Overseas

  • Recommendation to the Israeli Consulate regarding issuance of a relevant visa.

  • Dissemination of information and advice regarding the privileges given by various government offices to those eligible for Aliyah.

  • Checking detailed eligibility with the Ministry of Absorption for those eligible for Aliyah.

  • Granting of a one-way flight ticket to Israel and approval for extra baggage allowance according to the Department's regulations.

  • Dissemination of information and registration to frameworks, mostly the Department's, for those eligible for initial absorption programs.
