Community Projects to Restore the North - Carmiel 

Carmiel

Facts about the community:

  • Founded in 1964
  • Current population: 42,700
  • 11.5% of the population are retired senior citizens (over age 65)
  • 11,200 residents are children ages 0-17
  • Ranks 6 out of 10 on the socioeconomic scale (according to the National Bureau of Statistics)
  • 1,872 residents are in need (according to the local Department of Welfare
  • 3,212 children are immigrants, 404 of which are in need (according to the local Department of Social Services)
  • 7,799 children and youth are registered in regional educational frameworks:
    • 3,795are in elementary school
    • 1,893 are in junior high school
    • 2,111 are in high school

As part of its mission to rebuild the Galilee and restore vibrant communities across the region, the Jewish Agency seeks your support to repair and renovate the following community buildings:
