Hadassah Neurim Jewelry Debuts in the Sharon

October 25, 2006 / 3 Cheshvan 5767

Hadassah Neurim's young craftspeople, who fashion "Dancing Days Jewelry", took part in the Vered Hasharon Hadassah Chapter's sixth annual Walkathon in Raanana. Chapter President Sheila Brody invited the youth to display and sell their wares at the Walkathon, proceeds of which benefit stem-cell research.

The youngsters prepared for this event with great excitement, and worked tirelessly to prepare enough jewelry for the sale, even working during their vacation time from school.

The students of the Hadassah Neurim project are already professionals in the field and fashion their own designs, which could easily compete with the products of professional jewelry designers.

During the days preceding the event, the students learned to create a variegated collection for display, to make a cost accounting of the products, and to present them in an attractive way.

The collection that they put on display included bracelets, necklaces, earrings and rings that they themselves laid out in a beautiful arrangement on a table in the park.  The colors and designs attracted many of the event's participants as well as others who happened to be spending time in the park. The students themselves brought in the customers and conducted the sale.

For these youngsters, an added bonus of participating in the event was the opportunity to see Israel in all its beauty, in a magnificent park overflowing with people on the holiday, religious and secular, young and old, families with children, youngsters and adults – as they say, amcha Yisrael ("your nation, Israel").

Members of Hadassah warmly thanked the youngsters and promised to include them in future events that they organize. The students celebrated their success with a meal from McDonalds and returned to Hadassah Neurim filled with fond memories and pride.
