Facts about the community:

  • Founded in 1941
  • Current population: 38,400
  • 16.8% of the population are retired senior citizens (over age 65)
  • 8,400 residents are children ages 0-17
  • Ranks 5 out of 10 on the socioeconomic scale (according to the National Bureau of Statistics)
  • 1,275 children are registered in a local elementary school
  • 1,753 children are registered in either junior high school or high school
  • Without any local industries or businesses, most residents work in nearby cities of Haifa, Afula, etc.

As part of its mission to rebuild the Galilee and restore vibrant communities across the region, the Jewish Agency seeks your support to repair and renovate the following community buildings:
