Financial Assistance for New Immigrant Soldiers Who Served in the Recent War

Criteria for Eligibility: All immigrant soldiers that moved to Israel since 1999 and that were in the army during the recent hostilities
Date taken into account is the date one entered the country on a program targeting Aliyah, or the aliyah date
Scope of Target Population:

Approximate # of combat immigrant soldiers in
"sadir” (regular army duty): 1,400
 
Approximate # of combat-support immigrant soldiers in
“sadir” (regular army duty): 1,500

Approximate # of reservist immigrant soldiers called up during the recent hostilities: 1,500

Assistance To Be Received:
According to group

Combat and combat support immigrant soldiers in “sadir”

Gift cards worth approximately $450 for purchasing essential personal items at some of Israel's best-known department stores, including H&O, Best Buy, Steimatzky, Ricochet Camping & Outdoor Equipment, Office Depot and HomeCenter.
Approximate number of recipients:   2,900

Reservist immigrant soldiers called up during the recent hostilities

  • Living subsidies of approximately $550 to cover monthly rental or mortgage payments
  • Gift cards worth approximately $450 for purchasing essential personal items at some of Israel's best-known department stores, including H&O, Best Buy, Steimatzky, Ricochet Camping & Outdoor Equipment, Office Depot and HomeCenter.


Approximate number of recipients: 1,500

Total cost for segment: 1,500,000 + 1,305,000 =  $2,805,000
