E.1. Preamble
This section includes games that will help participants in self-disclosure.
As group activity takes off in the second phase of development, members begin interacting more intensely with one another, but not necessarily in a balanced or positive manner, as different people give different kinds and levels of input. Some may be shy, some inexperienced, while others may be dominant. Beyond the issues of communication, group members simply don't know each other well enough and therefore don't connect to the group naturally in the early stages of its development.
The leader or facilitator first needs to help them open up to each other in a non-threatening manner, setting the example in some way. The goal is also to encourage mutual respect and build trust. When these games are run by experienced hands, in a supportive atmosphere, these goals will be achieved and a positive group feeling will result.
