Committee Member

Sylvie Pelossof was born in Tangier, Morocco, to a Zionist family and spent her childhood in Madrid, moved to the United States, and came on aliyah to Israel in 1973.

Upon her arrival in Israel she joined WIZO’s volunteer efforts, starting out as chairperson of a group in Tel Aviv, later becoming chairperson of the Ramat Aviv area. In 1985 she was chosen as Fundraising Chairperson of WIZO Tel Aviv, then Deputy Chairperson of the Fundraising Department of WIZO Israel.

In 1996 Sylvie was elected Chairperson of the World WIZO Tourist Department, a position she held for two terms. During this time she was active in strengthening the connection between World WIZO and various WIZO Federations. In 2004 she was elected to her present position as Chairperson of the World WIZO Department of Organization and Education.

Sylvie, who has two children and a grandchild, is an Honorary Life Member of WIZO Israel and a certified bridge teacher. She devotes most of her time and energy to her volunteer activity in World WIZO. She serves as a Board Committee Member since October 2004.
