Ulpan Etzion + Kibbutz Ulpan on Kibbutz Tzuba

Kibbutz and Ulpan Etzion - two great experiences that are great together!

Kibbutz Ulpan is one of our most successful programs for young adults who want to learn Hebrew and experience a lifestyle unique to Israel, while meeting other young Jews from around the world.

Ulpan Etzion, which was founded in 1949, is designed specifically for young immigrants who hold college degrees to build a solid foundation in academic Hebrew.

Now, the Jewish Agency offers a unique opportunity to enjoy the best of both worlds, with a new Etzion program located in Kibbutz Tzuba, near Jerusalem.

On the five-month program, you will:

•  Study with your peers in intensive Hebrew-language courses designed for university-educated, ambitious olim, 24 hours weekly.

•  Work on the kibbutz, also for 24 hours weekly. The type of work varies depending on the needs of Kibbutz Tzuba. Available settings may include: early-childhood nursery, Hotel Tzuba, the “Kiftzuba” children’s amusement park, the Oran Safety Glass factory, the kibbutz gardens, the dairy, and more.

•  Live in a pastoral, peaceful environment – just 20 minutes by public transportation to Jerusalem, and 45 minutes to Tel Aviv.

•  Prepare for higher education in Israel or to enter the Israeli job market.

•  Make friends with other new olim from around the world.

•  Receive support, employment guidance, and academic counseling from our staff.

•  Have access to a variety of cultural activities organized by Kibbutz Tzuba and by The Jewish Agency for Israel, including tours around Israel and holiday celebrations with the kibbutz.

•  Develop a connection with an “adoptive” Israeli family.

I finished Ulpan Etzion in December, and in January, I started working at Waze. I was really lucky

"In Italy the economy is static, and it was impossible for me to upgrade my life. This dimension of impossibility made me crazy. I decided to make a change and move to Israel because I am young, I have a Master's degree, and I have experience.

I arrived at Ulpan Etzion without a clear idea of where I wanted to work—but I knew that with my experience and because there aren't many Italians here, I would have a chance of finding a good job. I signed up for The Jewish Agency's Aliyah Jobs newsletter, which collects available jobs and sends jobs listed by language to olim twice a week.

That's how I found the job at Waze (which was then only a start-up) straight after finishing ulpan - it was really weird!"
