Families are matched according to common characteristics such as: place of residence, language, ages, hobbies, professions, etc.
Contact between families takes place according to the interests and style of participants. The time, place and frequency of meetings, get-togethers or conversations occur at the frequency and according to the style that interest all involved. There may be urgent or frequent meetings when the need arises or regular or spontaneous phone conversations for advice. Meetings may include joint outings, Shabbat or holiday hosting, assistance in finding employment or a cup of coffee to share frustrations and offer support.
The new and veteran immigrants and Israelis receive guidance from the At Home-Together staff and participate in activities in their local region.
