Building2Gether in the Aftermath of Hurricane Sandy

Partnership2Gether sent 11 Israelis to Union Beach, New Jersey last month, as they joined 12 MetroWest peers – there they lived, learned, worshiped and worked beside each other to rebuild a home owned by a widow who lived with her daughter, two grandchildren, and a son with special needs. The rebuilding experience was a joint project involving the Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest, Temple Shaari Emeth, Jewish Helping Hands and Gateway Church of Christ.

“This project is so Tikkun Olam,” writes volunteer Efrat Neuman-Cohen from the Merchavim Community Mabuaim, who produced a blog about the experience. “This is what Partnership and Jewish Peoplehood is all about”.
