Peleg’s visit coincided with the Israeli Independence Day events. Peleg organized and taught three krembo-making workshops at the elementary school. Additionally, Peleg took part in a big fundraiser at a hotel in town, at which food booths were set up by leading restaurants. Peleg’s offerings included Fatayer and Kubba-beetroot soup with rice. Peleg cooked 250 servings of each, and, needless to say, his food was in great demand.
Quite spontaneously, Peleg prepared and cooked a dinner for his hosts and the organizing federation team. Towards the end of his visit, Peleg also prepared Friday night dinner for 50 UW students at Hillel Center. The actual cooking was done at Hillel, and was a great success.
