Sderot Teen Cafe

Sderot Teen Cafe Project - International Young Israel Movement

The program operates a youth café, and runs activities for youth (aged 13-18) from Sderot and the surrounding communities. The youths come from a wide range of socioeconomic and religious backgrounds, a significant percentage of whom are at-risk youth.

The program empowers youth, and advances them towards achievements and development through educational enrichment, community service, acquiring positive values from figures in the community who act as role models, receiving tools for coping with stress and trauma, and developing self-confidence and social skills. The café operates five evenings a week and is run by the youths themselves, together with volunteers from the community and from the local academic college.

The program takes place in Sderot and the local communities.
