La’ad: Volunteers Assisting Holocaust Survivors

Hundreds of trained volunteers make house calls to Holocaust survivors in Israel, offering companionship, help with day-to-day chores, and assistance applying for legal benefits.

La’ad trains hundreds of young volunteers to help Israeli Holocaust survivors live with more dignity.

Volunteers visit survivors at home, help them apply for the financial support to which they are entitled, operate a call center to help survivors navigate bureaucracy, and record witness testimony on the Holocaust.

Launched in 2008, La’ad has already helped 100,000 survivors (half of those in Israel) access their financial rights.

The neediest cases are also eligible for emergency cash grants from La’ad.
