Press Conference on Sunday Jan. 24th at 3pm at Jewish Agency,48 King George St., Jerusalem on Antisemitism Worlwide Marking UN Holocaust Remembrance Day

On Sunday January 24th, 2010 at 3pm, the annual press conference of the Global Forum Against Antisemitism will be held, presenting a summary of Antisemitic incidents around the world in 2009.(The press conference will be conducted in Hebrew with an opportunity for questions in English.)

The press conference will take place at the Jewish Agency for Israel, 48 King George St., Jerusalem, with the participation of Yuli Edelstein MK, Minister of Public Diplomacy and Diaspora Affairs; Natan Sharansky, Chairman of the Jewish Agency for Israel and Amos Hermon, Chairman of the Jewish Agency's Task Force against Antisemitism.

At the special press conference, Minister for Public Diplomacy and Diaspora Affairs, Yuli Edelstein MK; Jewish Agency Chairman Natan Sharansky and Jewish Agency Executive member, Amos Hermon will present a summary of Antisemitic incidents around the world in 2009.

In light of racist and antisemitic incidents around the world, events will take place throughout the world during the week beginning January 24th, to mark the fight against Antisemitism and racism.

In 2005, the United Nations decided to recognize January 27th as the international day to commemorate the Holocaust, 62 years since the liberation of Auschwitz. UN Holocaust Remembrance Day, and the day commemorating the liberation of Auschwitz, will be marked around the world as a day for combating Antisemitism on Wednesday, January 27th 2010.
