"Magic Moments" youth delegates from the Northern Galilee lead Yom HaZikaron and Yom HaAtzmaut activities in British communities.
For ten years running a "Magic Moments" delegation leaves for Jewish communities in the UK.
The 2014 delegation is set to include six groups of high schoolers who will conduct lead Yom HaZikaron and Yom HaAtzmaut activities in six communities in England and Scotland.
Participants attend a six-month leadership development program featuring workshops dealing with Jewish identity and personal empowerment. Each participant learns to express his/her personal story in preparation for the delegation. They also attend a preparatory seminar where they interact with and gain insights from British Gap year participants in Israel on Partnership2Gether programs.
In Great Britain the delegates, hosted by local families, lead activities in a variety of community frameworks, from kindergarten and elementary school and through community centers, synagogues and elderly centers.
This year features a new twist of the program: a "Magic Moments Alumni" group will head to Manchester, where they will supplement Yom HaZikaron / Yom HaAtzmaut activities with Israel hasbara at college campuses.
