Three Missions From North America Greet New Immigrants at Ben Gurion

November 6, 2006 / 15 Cheshvan 5757

On October 26th,  missions from Hartford, Connecticut, Greensboro, North Carolina and  Toronto, Canada joined together to greet new immigrants arriving at Ben Gurion airport from Ethiopia.  The Toronto mission flew to Israel with the Ethiopian immigrants, while the other missions arrived from the United States.

Approximately 90 mission participants joyously greeted the 60 new immigrants.  Traveling together to the absorption center, the mission participants and new immigrants sang and waved flags.

At the center, the immigrants' retold the story of their experience immigrating to Israel. All present enjoyed the encounter, which was both moving and interesting.
