Operation Dove’s Wings final flight lands in Israel on Wednesday August 28th.  Upon the completion of operation Dove's Wings, the State of Israel, together with The Jewish Agency, has brought ninety-thousand immigrants to Israel from Ethiopia.

Prior to the flight, the Israeli Embassy in Addis Ababa will host a farewell ceremony, with participation of the Chairman of The Jewish Agency, Nathan Sharansky, and Minister of Immigrant Absorption, Sofa Landver. Shortly after, about 450 new immigrants will be departing on two charter flights organized by The Jewish Agency.

Upon their arrival in Tel-Aviv, a ceremony will be held at Ben-Gurion's airport Terminal 1, with participation of the olim's relatives and The Jewish Agency partners: the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption, The Jewish Federations of North America, the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, Keren Hayesod – United Israel Appeal, donors and additional funds.

Since commencement of Operation Dove's Wings in November 2010, The Jewish Agency served 7,000 new olim from Ethiopia:

• By providing a center in Gondar that offered a comprehensive range of social services, including preparation classes for those eligible for Aliyah. The support for the center came from  the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews and Jewish Federations of North America.

• Bringing to Israel the Falash Mura and those eligible by the Law of Return
• Providing housing and education at the 17 Absorption Centers around Israel. The centers are jointly operated by The Jewish Agency and Ministry of Immigrant Absorption.

Jewish Agency Chairman Natan Sharansky thanked The Jewish Agency's partners around the world and in Israel for their contribution in bringing olim and supporting their absorption. He also mentioned that The Jewish Agency will continue in the future to assist olim from Ethiopia according to their eligibility as established by the Ministry of Interior, just as we help others eligible from other countries worldwide.

Minister of Immigrant Absorption, Sofa Landver thanked "all of our partners and guarantee that the government of Israel will do all that is required to achieve the immigrants' absorption as best as possible." Landver added that she is proud to see the completion of the three-year operation this week.
