Spring is in the air in Israel, and flowers, plants and trees are blooming across the country. View a photo series of the natural beauty of Israel, as shot by Jewish Agency for Israel staffers, and view videos showing how the Jewish National Fund (JNF [5]) is greening the land.

The JNF was established more than 100 years ago by a small group of leaders, including Theodor Herzl [6]. By purchasing plots of land, they hoped to establish the groundwork for the birth of our nation of Israel. JNF continues to make a commitment to the land and people in the 21st century. While we still plant trees and create parks, our organization does so much more. Read on to see how we’re making a difference for generations to come.

Today, JNF performs groundbreaking work to develop the land of Israel through a variety of multifaceted initiatives. Please take the time to learn about the many projects we are undertaking as part of our vision of building a strong homeland for tomorrow. Our work in Israel is divided into these seven action areas:

10 My beloved spoke, and said unto me: 'Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.

Description: Anchor
12. The flowers appear on the earth; the time of singing is come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land;

Description: Anchor
13. The fig-tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines in blossom give forth their fragrance. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.

“For now the winter is past, the rains are over and gone. The blossoms have appeared in the land. The time of singing has come; the song of the turtledove is heard in our land.” The Song of Songs
