The Senior Shaliach is 30+ and is usually married with a family, has served in the army, and earned at least one academic degree. He or she possesses rich Jewish knowledge, management skills, and vast experience in informal education and working with all age groups within a community.
The shaliach usually works out of the Federation or JCC, building relationships with community representatives and leaders. The goal of this type of shlichut is to connect the next generation of the Jewish Community to its people by connecting them to their homeland.
The shaliach works in each community for up to three years, during which time s/he works with the various community bodies and organizations as a partner in creating strategic plans for the community.
