Shimon is the Israel Centre Director and Head of Mishlahat. He and his family arrived in South
Africa in December 2009 to take up his shlichut as Director of the Israel Centre. He has been on
shlichut all around the globe including America and the UK. Since finishing his military service in the
Golani brigade (Shimon is now a Captain in the IDF Reserve forces), he has managed non-profitable organisations including a charity NGO providing education and nourishment for needy families in the Negev and fundraising for an NGO assisting Ethiopian Olim. Shimon spent the last four years as a director of the Partnership 2000 Project in the eastern Negev working together with Jewish organisations in New Jersey and Delaware.
Debbie is the Executive Administrator and PA to the Israel Centre Director. She has worked at the
Israel Centre for seven years and is passionate about Israel. For any queries concerning The Israel Centre and specifically booking a one-on-one appointment with an Aliyah Shaliach, Debbie is your girl! She is the proud mother of three awesome children, and a Bobba to 3 lucky grandchildren
Sue is the Aliyah File Manager for the Israel centre and has been passionately doing her job for the last five years. She opens files for olim, makes sure that all the required documentation for making Aliyah is in their files and once their file is approved, she arranges oleh visas, books flights and makes sure that the olim understand the procedures to be followed on arriving in Israel.
Tanya is the Educational projects Coordinator at The Israel Centre. She’s been with the organization for five years, coordinating projects such as the Israel Encounter tour, Bible Quiz, Israeli High Education Expo as well as offering different volunteer programs in Israel through MASA or the Jewish Agency. She is very patient and caring and loves assisting anyone who wants to experience Israel. Tanya is married and a mother of 3 cuties (2 sons and a daughter).
Robbie is the National Director of Partnership2Gether. He has been in this position since 2013 but has been involved professionally in the community since 2009 having worked previously as head of Betar youth movement and head of Hagshama Johannesburg. Robbie has worked for The Israel Centre for four years. He loves Israel and that’s why Partnership 2Gether is the perfect organisation for him to be involved with – he gets to directly connect Israel with our South African Jewish Community every single day.
Yaniv is spending his shlichut in Cape Town together with his wife, Maya, and their three kids. Yaniv is the Aliyah, community and Habonim Shaliach in Cape Town, and he is also the head of the Israeli Mishlachat in Cape Town. Yaniv holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Education and a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, both of them from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Yaniv worked in various jobs in the field of formal and informal education, his last position before arriving in Cape Town was a regional director at PERACH project – Israel's biggest tutoring and mentoring project.
Shana Beinart has been with the Israel Centre Cape Town since 2010 (having worked with the Israel Centre in 2009), she deals with Aliyah, Israeli educational projects and Israel Centre Events. She is passionate about sending South Africans to Israel whether it is on Aliyah, Israel Encounter or one of the MASA options. Shana is caring, efficient, helpful and eager to assist those interested in their options in Israel. She loves reading and Muay Thai and is close to her friends and family.
