Noa Ben Dayan, whose Ashkelon home was struck by a missile on January 12, 2009, was treated to a pleasant surprise this week when she received a new computer as part of a project being run for Youth Futures children. Noa’s home sustained a direct hit from a Grad missile and the main level of the house was completely destroyed.
On January 19, a delegation of senior officials of the United Jewish Communities of North America and ‘Next Generation’ leaders of the Jewish Federations arrived in Israel for a solidarity mission to the war-ravaged towns of southern Israel. The delegation included Jon Gurkoff and David Solomon.

The solidarity delegation visited with Ofer Baram, the representative of the Fund for Victims of Terror in Southern Israel, and Ohad Drori, the Jewish Agency southern region social worker and recommended giving the Ben Dayan family aid from the S.O.S. Emergency Fund, part of the Jewish Agency's Fund for Victims of Terror.
The Ben Dayans requested help in purchasing a new computer for their daughter, Noa. Her computer had been destroyed, and the family spent approximately one month at a hotel, where Noa had no opportunity to work on a computer. The Emergency Fund received a donation of used computers, but, unfortunately, the machine that was given to Noa did not work properly.
Recently, a number of donations had come in and were used for the purchase of new computers for the children in Netivot and Sderot belonging to the Jewish Agency's Youth Futures program – and for Noa Ben Dayan. Ofer Baram and Ohad Drori visited the Ben Dayan family and gave Noa her new computer. They were happy to see their home renovation was completed as well.
