Expoloring Buisness Ties Between Beit Shemesh/Mateh Yehuda and the State of Maryland

Barry Bogage, Director of the Maryland Israel Development Center (MIDC) spent the day in Beit Shemesh to learn about what types of businesses exist in the region and to see how we can begin business ties with Maryland. The MIDC has a special mandate to initiate business contacts between Beit Shemesh-Mateh Yehuda and Montgomery County, Maryland.  more

Partnership 2000 Prepares Another Round of  National Service

In August, three "shinshinim", Amit Regev, Hadas Avigad, and Sivan Bachrach, will go to Washington for a year. They are currently in a training program to learn about the region, get familiar with the Washington community, meet volunteers, and prepare for their youth leadership roles.  more

 

Local Students Participate In Challenging Day

For the past ten years, the Partnership's Students leadership program has given scholarships to students from Beit Shemesh and Mateh Yehudah. In exchange, the students volunteer in the community and learn about Israeli society and community leadership. As in previous years, a "challenge day" took place in April.  more

Israel's Wines: A Culture Uncorked

When most people think of Israel as a tourist destination, they think of history, archaeology and holy sites. Now, wineries in the Jerusalem area want them to think of wine, as well. Some of them have aligned to form the Judean Hills wine route, 25 wineries between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, almost all of which welcome tourists. View photos.  more
