Partnership 2000 Community Leadership Course Opened in Beit Shemesh and South Africa. Towards The Year's End, Participants Will Meet in Israel and Travel Together to Washington
A few weeks ago, we opened a special community leadership course for the first time in the history of the Partnership. This is actually two courses: one is held in Israel and the second in South Africa. The course participants, potential leaders aged 25-45, will meet toward the end of the year for an educational experience in Israel and then travel together for a joint seminar at the Jewish Federation of greater Washington.
The Israeli group is comprised of 21 men and women, who will be trained as lay leaders in the Beit Shemesh – Adulam region. The group will deal with basic questions that are of concern to the Jewish people at the beginning of the third millennium, and learn about processes that shape Israeli society today. With the help of the best people in this field in the State of Israel, the members will be trained to bring about broad social, cultural and economic changes in the city of Beit Shemesh and Adulam settlements.
The course topics include: Social leadership in civil society, the community role of lay leadership, fundraising, familiarity with the Jewish world, communities active in the Partnership, etc.
