A mission of Ann Arbor community leaders paid a visit this week to Nahalal-as part of the Partnership 2000 Community to Community project for partnering between the communities of Ann Arbor and Nahalal. The mission's members included Susan Fisher, President of the Ann Arbor Jewish Federation and David Stollman, CEO of the Federation.
The high point of the visit was a festive evening for signing a charter of friendship between the two communities-an expression of the mutual commitment for fulfilling the 'Nahalal - Your Home in Israel' project. The ceremony included brief remarks by Eyal Betzer, mayor of the regional council, Elad Betzer, Nahalal secretary, and Jewish Agency representative Damon Rose. Attendees watched a moving film that portrayed joint activity at the Israel 60th anniversary celebration in Ann Arbor. The Good Spirit choir added musical pleasure to the evening as members of both communities signed the charter, printed out on a large certificate.
The mission's members remained in Nahalal for two days during which they were hosted for Kabbalat Shabbat at Nigun HaLev and for a Shabbat meal at the homes of families of Moshav Nahalal. The guests took advantage of the rainy Shabbat to visit the moshav and the water reservoirs in the Nahalal fields.
