Martin Avramovich, Alan Salomon and Jeff Lewis, seniors of the Jewish community in Boston, visited in Haifa last week and toured projects backed by the community. Yossi Gluzman and Nurit Lev from the Haifa-Boston Partnership accompanied the three.
The visitors inaugurated a refrigerating-truck purchased for a soup kitchen in Hadar, to transport food from IDF bases to the needy; and Gan Ha'Shalom, a playground on Ha'Shomer St.
The playground is set in a derelict area where many children from mixed families of Jews, Arabs and SLA families reside. Local children attended the ceremony. The guests visited MATI Haifa, and listened to stories of success from young entrepreneurs, some of which are from the Arab sector. Haifa-Boston Partnership aids and supports young entrepreneurs at the beginning of their way, via MATI and its chair, Avi Feigenbaum.
