Haifa War Diary - Eli & Nasser
Avishai Kfir and Gili Shapira, Israel, 2006, 35 min., Hebrew w/subtitles, Video
As Hezbollah missiles rained down on Haifa this summer and residents stayed locked in their "safe rooms," Eli Levy, a Jewish journalist for Radio Haifa, and Nasser Nasser, a Palestinian photojournalist from HOT News, tirelessly kept Haifa citizens up-to-date on the war as it unfolded. Directors Gili Shapira and Avishai Kfir filmed friends Eli and Nasser as they raced through the city of Haifa covering the traumatic events of the war. The film Haifa War Diary - Eli & Nasser premiered in October in the Haifa International Film Festival at a special event honoring the city of Haifa and Eli and Nasser.
