Thirty-five pupils from Nahariya's Amal High School and Ulpanat Harel who take part in a young leadership group run by the Jewish Agency's Partnership 2000 project, celebrated Purim with residents of the city.
The pupils distributed mishlochei manot and involved residents in singing/dancing and other activities in homes for the aged, the Tapuz Absorption Center, and Nahariya's Western Galilee Hospital.
Interacting with local residents and making a contribution to the community are two major goals of the project, which is now in its second year of operation.
Throughout the course the participating pupils put the skills they learn to practical use on behalf of the city of Nahariya and its connection to the Jewish community of Northern New Jersey.
