The Young Leadership Group of Or Akiva,  which was established to parallel the Young Professionals of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation initiated a year long project in Or Akiva - To The Environment With Love.

The program operates in all the city's elementary schools and in a number of the kindergartens.

Events and projects continue during the entire school year teaching the need for everyone to feel responsible and act responsibly in protecting our environment.

Culminating this years' activities was a special event on the last day of the Or Akiva Matnass's Day Camp. 

On Friday July 27th all  the children in the camp's junior division, and guests from the city's kindergartens, participated in the celebration. 

After a carnival with rides, booths and games, all participants made their own personal pet from re-cycled materials.

Everyone then crowded into the Matnass auditorium for a Magic Show, an Award Ceremony for the school and kindergarten which had completed the most creative program during the year, and refreshments.
 
Everyone went home with a green balloon as a reminder to continue to enjoy and project our environment.
