Israel's largest solar energy system for producing electricity was dedicated at the Teneh family farm in Ramat Negev
The minister of infrastructures, the mayor of the Ramat Negev Regional Council and many guests attended the dedication ceremony, at the Teneh farm, of the largest system in Israel for producing solar energy. The system has a maximal output of 50 kilowatts. For the sake of comparison, producing this amount of solar energy could supply the electricity consumption needs of 15 homes. The system will supply all of the electricity needs of the farm and dairy shed, while any surplus electricity will be sold by the Teneh family to the Israel Electric Corporation.

The farm was established in Ramat Negev around three years ago by the Teneh family as part of the "Wine Route" agricultural farm project. The farm was blessed with great natural advantages: it is situated 500 meters above sea level with an abundance of sunlight and wind.
In his welcoming address at the dedication ceremony, Mayor Shmulik Rifman called on the minister of infrastructures to speed up the procedures necessary for building the national project at Ashalim for producing electricity from solar energy. "In Ramat Negev we have the largest nonexpendable resource in Israel – sunshine."
