Jewish Agency Chairman Natan Sharansky Presents Award to Western Galilee - Central Area Consortium Triwizard Teen Project
6.7.2010

The "Partnership Award of Excellence" was presented at the 4th Annual Partnership 2000 Conference in Jerusalem, "Jewish Peoplehood Every Day Around the World", held in conjunction with the Jewish Peoplehood Hub.

TriTeen started in the summer of 2008 when 16 Western Galilee teenagers were selected to take part in a comprehensive preparation program for enhancing their Jewish and Zionist identity, and understanding the importance of expanding Jewish circles. After the program ended, they travelled to the Jewish summer camp in Sarvash, Hungary, where they met with teenagers from Eastern European communities and established ties with them which have lasted until today. In the summer of 2009 we trained three groups of Jewish teenagers: Israeli, American, and Hungarian. These 33 teenagers travelled together to Budapest, took part in the Sarvash camp, and flew to Israel as a group. In Israel they toured the country and got to know Israel in general and the Partnership region in particular. During the course of the program, the teenagers were introduced to content about leadership and community with an emphasis on Jewish identity and contributing to their home communities. The TriTeen program is continuing for a third year within a similar framework. Teenagers from past years continue to keep in contact, accompany the program, and be active in their communities. The program lasts for about three and a half weeks.
